As might be expected for a team with such a large following, the internet has its large proportion of sites devoted to NUFC, not to mention the vastly larger number devoted to football in general. This is an attempt to collect and collate some of the best and most useful.

First two sites which have to be mentioned. The first is

www.nufc.com

This isn't the official NUFC site, it's much better than that. Run by two Newcastle fans the site carries the latest news (often updated several times per day) and some well thought out views. It far, far outstrips Diary of a Fan with its coverage. As well as the news and match reports of each game, there is comprhensive coverage of the club's history (including league records, results, etc), the squad and a variety of serious and not so serious sections. Highly recommended.

The second site which I suppose has to be mentioned is the official site,

www.nufc.co.uk

This possibly only makes the list because it is the official club site. The coverage is now earth shattering (and you have to register for much of it) and the over commercialisation is to such an extend that the really intersting content is hidden away in the payed for subscription area. It is however the site for official information on tickets, matches, etc.

So that covers the best site there is and the official site. There are of course others. They fall into two broad categories: Those akin to nufc.com providing a mixture of news and opinion; and those which are essentially message boards, places for fans to virtually meet and chat. Some sites may fall under both.

General Sites

Talk of the Tyne

Probably the second best independent site out there (behind nufc.com). The news is current and up to date and it covers more of the rumour mill than nufc.com. Recommended.

Howay The Toon

The news is up to date (although probably pulled from elsewhere) even if the statistics aren't. An okay site

Message Boards

Toon Chat

Good selection of active boards, including general chat and some betting specialities

Footy Mad Board

The Newcastle board from Footy Mad. Quite lively

General Football

As well as specifically Newcastle related sites there are a huge number of general football sites. Here I give some which I consider the best or most useful.

Football365

Providing all the latest football news and rumours, with in depth statistics on every team and league. Good resource for match reports and detailed statistics (when teams concede goals, etc.) Also has the latest rumours from the press, and any breaking news. Recommended.

BBC Football

Football news from the BBC (the public TV and Radio broadcaster in the UK). Comprhensive coverage all English and Scottish football, updated regularly. Not so many rumours or so much speculation, but plenty of news.

Footy Mad

News and message boards from various teams
